Banks!

How banks run amazes me. I've been dealing with some delightful staff at the branch up the road ... but the manager, well I'm yet to deal with him as I'm waiting for him to get back to me.

The waiting is extremely frustrating I must admit!

Apartments =)

Hard to believe but a real estate agent called today to say that Shauna & I have our apartment!!! Woo Hoo ... so totally rad! God is the best ... but then we all knew that =)

I get the keys on Monday, 11 February and Shauna arrives back on Wednesday, 13 February ... perfect timing =) I'll be moving all the incidentals in during the week and then the big move on the Saturday ... can't believe it's actually happening!!!!

YAY!! City here I come =)

Apartments ... the wait continues

Ah yes, the joy of apartment hunting with tens of others around!

Shauna & I just missed out on the apartment I saw yesterday. That's ok, God has the right one for us, it's just being patient and trusting in His timing ... in a way I'm happy we didn't get it. I get this nagging feeling that it wasn't really what it seemed.

It will be so good to finally get a place, that's for sure!!!

Apartments ...

The joy of apartment hunting ... hmm well, obviously being flat out as I'm meant to be, I went onto the real estate website to see if anything new was on deck.

And yes, there was to my surprise. A top floor apt in Carlton for a fairly reasonable price. So I contact the agent, he calls me back, then I call him back (a sign of things to come :p) and we organise an inspection time for tomorrow afternoon!!! I have everything prepared already re documents. If it looks like a go-er, the apps are so being submitted!

Oh, and also on the look for a new job ... life is never dull that's for sure! :)

Conferences are now a part of history!

Yep, it's strange to think that the team have just completed four rounds of conferences, I was blessed to be a part of three of them!

Melbourne well was truly PHENOMENAL being in my own backyard =)!!!; Sydney began shakily but after a swift jolt to reality by Reggie Dabbs & Jurgen Matthesius, went on the upward scale and Perth was just off the sha-zzizle!

I was really so blessed to help out in the areas that I did, in Melbourne, regos & ushering, Sydney, regos, beautiful woman & VIP lounge (oh and packdown!) and then in Perth, regos, Beautiful Woman and packdown. I really felt as though I made a difference, that my little jobs here and there added to the overall conference - setting the expectation and atmosphere for so many young people (and volunteers) to encounter Jesus. I just can't fathom how blessed I've been over these last few weeks - a truly amazing experience =)!!!

Now, back to reality where conference is just a mere moment in time - now I must apply ALL that I heard (and that was quite a bit) during conference to my daily living. Jesus is with us always and we are where we are for a purpose - will we trust in Him to guide us and will we step out in faith when He whispers to us to do so?

Questions to mull over and to act on ...

employment, finances, housing, ministry all but a few of the things that He wants to be involved in ... are we letting Him??

Sydney PS08

An extremely quick & short update.

Arrived back from Sydney this morning, conference was good. Very challenging and a time of stretching for me personally.

Very different to Melbourne that's for sure.

Off to Perth in the morning so must pack and get everything organised. Will update more when I get the chance!!!

PS08 Melbourne

So, Conference 2008 is now over!!

It was a totally MASSIVE event!!!

So let's see how we can summarise what happened ...

Tuesday
I headed off to Vodafone at about 12.00 p.m. to help with registration set up. We managed to get all the bags filled and desk set up pretty quickly which was great.
The volunteers meeting happened at 5.00 p.m. and it was phenomenal ... you could tell that we couldn't wait for the next day to roll around.
After briefly meeting with the guest services team, we separated and went our own ways for what was most likely the last night of having an early night!

Wednesday
Well conference was finally here. I was helping with registrations from 10.00 a.m. and pretty much went straight through until 4.00 p.m. At 4.00 p.m. I headed down to the Guest Services room as the team leaders & assistants got together and we had our meeting.
We then met with the ushers at 5.30 p.m. and realised that this was it, the start of Conference 08!!!!!
I was very blessed to have the most AMAZING group of ushers. We made the back section totally pump! We prayed beforehand and totally focussed on what we needed to do!!
Ps Russell spoke for the opening night and it set the platform for the remaining sessions of Melb 08! We were pretty full in the back section so it was quite exciting to see how the remaining nights would go!

Thursday
Ah, the first day sessions unfolded and again, the atmosphere was awesome. Jurgen & Judah spoke and they were HILARIOUS! Will need to re look over my notes to make sure I note down what they spoke about. My next entry will have more details!
We launched Planetshakers Revolution - a total new thing which is so cool! During electives, all the ushers had to go down and pack all the bags for the Planetshakers Revolution - we got it done pretty quickly which was great.
I then rushed (LITERALLY!) to Jeans West in Swanston Street and bought my new shorts - wearing a skirt in a fairly hot day was not really a smart move :p
Thursday evening was great ... another awesome showing of His Holy Spirit moving!

Friday
Oh my goodness ... half way through conference. Today again a very hot day but the Holy Spirit was also totally on fire and moving through the conference.
In the afternoon, Guest Services were on foyer duty. Each team were allocated an hour block, my team had the first hour ... and because the service went over, we only did about 40 mins ... he he. After our shift, I headed into the city and did my shopping and bought my stuff for my team. I didn't do too bad and even made it back to Vodafone in time to do my hair and get ready for the night service.
Tonight was Reggie Dabbs and our back section was BURSTING with people!!! The whole stadium was pretty full which was great. At the end of the night I counted up how many seats were in my section ... approx 1600!!! My team totally rocks!
A lady dropped her only house key inbetween the top level metal planks but after much manipulating ... the vodafone staff were able to retrieve the key and I was able to return it to the owner.
Another day on relying on Him and being amazed at what He's doing!!!

Saturday
This is it, the last night! The day was truly great. I am so thankful that I have had the opportunity to serve at conference and that I was able to hear from phenomenal speakers - Ps Sam, Ps Russell, Judah Smith, Reggie Dabbs and Jurgen Matthesius.

I will so fill in the details next time

xx
