Ps 45 is technically a love song, but I see it more of God's heart being poured out and in a way a help to those in relationships (or believing for one!)
V1: Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skilful poet
Our words can bring hope or hopelessness, can bring peace or pierce like a dagger, can love or hate ...
Do we (I) bring the positive or the negative in ALL our words?
Verse 11 really speaks to me though:
MSG: "Be here - the king is wild for you. Since he's your lord, adore him."
NLT: "For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord"
AMP: "So will the King desire your beauty; because He is your Lord ..."
So no matter who we are, girl or boy, God is WILD for us! That's pretty mindblowing in itself. When we understand and grapple with that - how our lives can change!!
Then I just like this verse:
V2 MSG: "You're the handsomest of men; every word from your lips is sheer grace, and God has blessed you, blessed you so much.
xoxo
