Assignment

We are all on an assignment from God (and it’s not just one of those Blues Brothers movies quotes – though they boldly claimed, ‘we are on a mission from God’!) – the question is are we keeping our focus on our assignment or getting distracted by our everyday lives that the assignment becomes just a prayer point … when we remember?

Hmm, interesting thought …

Philippians 2:1-5 is a great passage and sometimes, we gloss over the introductory verses like an essay to get to the meatier parts … well this is all kind of meaty!!!

“Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.”

Take an interest in others, too – the ‘comma’ is there to pause, reflect – to advise us that as we go about our everyday things that we should also be taking interest in the everyday things of those around us – family, friends, strangers & God.

To be honest – I have been getting distracted and it is getting to the point of frustration – why? Because I’m in God’s waiting room and rather than just hand it over and have a ‘selah’ moment, I am pushing for an answer. And not that He wants me to just lie down and do nothing but what He ultimately wants is just my trust that the answers will come, I need to FOCUS on my ASSIGNMENT and let Him take care of that outside of my … CONTROL!!!!

No matter how things unfold, God only has the best in store for us … so really, why allow the enemy to get a foothold at all by distracting us with the things which are from God anyway who will bring good to our lives. The enemy tries to get us off course by merely trying to put questions in our minds … that’s as simple as it takes because he’s not that clever after all!!!

So another day is yet to unfold where His grace, mercy and answers will be revealed – in HIS way, HIS timing.

xoxo
