So this morning I reflected on Mark 2:1-12 where Jesus healed the paralytic man due to the persistence of his friends. Then as I was reading my devotional book, it went onto a tangent of being busy and making the most of your time so I looked up a couple of verses from Pr 20:34 and Ps 37:23;
Psalm 37:23
“If the LORD delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm;” (NIV)
“The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” (NLT)
“The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].” (AMP)
Proverbs 20:24
“A man’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?” (NIV)
“The LORD directs our steps, so why try to understand everything along the way?” (NLT)
“The very steps we take come from God; otherwise how would we know where we’re going?” (MSG)
God delights in every detail of our life, absolutely everything … I know I sometimes forget that. Then, how often do we (do I?!) try and understand each step I’m taking and why my path is going the way it is … I need not concern myself about it if I’m taking each step as God has directed. Everything is in His control =).
Then, my daily thought for today “Nothing lies outside the reach of prayer except that which lies outside the will of God” John Blanchard.
How true – as we pray in God’s will, things will come to pass, if we’re outside His will, then we’re probably hearing ‘no’ and trying to work out why???!!! God is so patient … phew!
God is super highlighting to me that my time needs to be spent more wisely … ASSIGNMENTS!!! … but also on the things that are on His heart as well. I must admit that when I heard about the earthquake in China, my heart sank and I was upset – I kept thinking of the beautiful girl I met when I was on a mission trip 10 years ago (my goodness time flies!) and hoping that she’s not in that province. Even now as I keep reading about the quake and the reports coming out of China I have to really hold back the emotions. May His peace comfort people and strengthen those who believe in Him to be His hands and feet during this time!
