Seasons of change

So interesting times

Seasons come and go ... in weather we know that there are distinct seasons (supposedly for Melbourne anyway!) - Summer, Autumn, Winter & Spring ... the season flow into each other (again when we don't have El Nino gracing its presence)

In our journey and walk with God there are also seasons.

Seasons of blessing and abundance and also seasons testing and refining in preparation for the next part of the journey.

After so much going on, it's fairly evident that I am in a season of preparation and transition. Oh goodness ... what does that really mean?

In Acts Chapter 1, verse 7-8: " He replied, "The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere - in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.""

This recounts the story of when the disciples were asking of Jesus as to if it was time for Israel to be freed.

What a parallel to our own journeys - how often do we ask of Jesus, is the time right for something to happen? It's not that He wants to withhold this information from us, He just wants us to trust in His ways, His timings, His plan ... if our hearts are in tune with Him, if we have that open & trusting relationship with the Holy Spirit, then our plans are likely to be exactly that which God has already set before us.

In the OT, in the book of Daniel - 2:21-23 "He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and set up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light. I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the kind demanded."

God has always been and will always be in control - should we truly submit ourselves to Him. He will not force Himself, His plan on us - it takes our faith, our choice to trust in His ways.

Ps 1:2-3 "But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do."

A season for me is being prepared to be ended whilst another is at its dawn. I only need to continue to have faith and trust in Him and ALL will be revealed and come to pass.

xoxo
