So my devotions this morning (Awakened - Holly Wagner) :) talked about the Proverbs 31 woman.
It's a passage which so many have built ministries on, sermons on etc but really, it's an amazing part of scripture that all woman (and men) should really delve into.
Stand out verses for me:
MSG version
v18: She senses the worth of her work, is in no hurry to call it quits for the day.
v20: She's quick to assist anyone in need, reaches out to help the poor.
v26: When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say, and she always says it kindly.
NLT
v18: She makes sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night.
v25-27: She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.
v30: Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised.
AMP:
v12: She comforts, encourages, and does him only good as long as there is life within her.
v17-18: She girds herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task] and makes her arms strong and firm. She tastes and sees that her gain from work [with and for God] is good; her lamp goes not out, but it burns on continually through the night [of trouble, privation, or sorrow, warning away fear, doubt, and distrust].
v25-26: Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; she rejoices over the future [the latter day or time to come, knowing that she and her family are in readiness for it]! She opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness [giving counsel and instruction].
wowie!!!!
After really getting to know this passage at Colour conference a few years ago, it has never left me and it still resonates with me today. Different verses, at different stages of my journey, but always a new revelation!
In my devotions this morning, the focus was from the Amplified v10: 'A capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman - who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls.'
Capable - having capacity or ability; efficient and able; able to achieve efficiently whatever one has to do, competent
So, I am to be capable - to have capacity or ability to do all that is my hand to do. Along with seeking the mind of Christ, genius of the Spirit and heart of the Father - I will be unstoppable :)
Good days ahead, unexpected blessings ...
xoxo
